In Bhagawad Gita Lord Krishna says, " Karmanyevadhikarasthe ma phaleshu kadachana" ie you have right to work and not to the fruits thereof. The most hindrance in our effective way of doing a given work is the feeling, 'sense of doership'. Our ego and individual traits interfere with our working and sap our mental energy. This limits our abilities to work with our full potential.
